One of the new features of
THE BOOK OF DAYS...MASTER ALMANAC 2010
IS THE NEW I CHING ORACLE CALENDAR
In order to construct this new calendar
I had to work backwards from Dec. 21st, 2012.
So the benefit to you is that
all of 2010, 2011, & 2012 of The I Ching Oracle Calendar
are included in the 2010 MASTER ALMANAC.

A sample page in the new I CHING Oracle Calendar...

Sept. 21st 2009 thru Jan. 18th 2010 featured in THE BOOK OF DAYS...MASTER ALMANAC 2010...

Above is a photograph I took using natural morning sunlight
of the first page of the I Ching Oracle Calendar.
(hence the the wavy nature of the pic
as i had a heck of a time keeping the page
of my new proof copy open and flat
and my shadow out of the frame...i'm sure you can relate....
the word amateur means: for the love of it...)
This page of the work
covers from Monday Sept.21st, 2009
through Monday Jan.18th, 2010.
So you'll have the next few weeks of the holiday season
to test drive this new I Ching Oracle Calendar...
one of the 18 living calendars from the worlds traditions
that are feature in the 2010 edition of
THE BOOK OF DAYS...DAILY ORACLE & MASTER ALMANAC
Please lemme know how it works for you
by sharing what revelations come to you...

I'm just now realizing the profound ramifications of this new work...
The following are suggestions on how to read it
as well as a little bit of what i've learned so far...
so here goes...

I suggest you consider the following background info:
1. Each of the 64 hexagrams that make up
The I Ching or "Book Of Changes"
is made up of 6 lines.
And each line is either a solid line _ yang,
or a broken line - - yin.
And each line is called a "yao" .
You can go online and read volumes of commentaries and interpretations
of what each of the 384 lines/yao of each of the 64 hexagrams mean.
The most ancient one is called the Yao Ci,
and dates from about 1,100 BCE.

2.The reason this is called a lunar calendar is because
there are 383.5 days in 13 lunar cycles of 29.5 days...
So each yao represents a day of our lives!!!

3. Each of the 64 hexagrams is also made up of 2 trigrams.
Each of the eight trigram is named for eight different states of being
found in nature: heaven, earth, fire, water, thunder, mountain, wind, & lake.
Tradition has it that each hexagram is named for the trigrams
of which it is constructed: fire on lake, water on mountain,
(from my research the numbering of the hexagrams
from #1 to # 64 is a relatively recent convention
in the near 5,000 year that we know of the I Ching's use;
also from what i can tell no one can say for certain
who created the I Ching or from where it originated !?!
i really like that part becuz i have my theoryz...that i'll save for another time...)

4. Within each hexagram the top trigram,
the 3 lines/yao, represents the old energy,
the bottom three lines/yao or trigram represents
the new energy that is seeking to displace the old,
transition or evolve the old.
Hence the title of " Book Of Changes"
because each of the 64 hexagrams is a diagram
that represents the 64 states of change
found in nature, life, the world, and the universe...

NOW HERE IS THE COOL PART:
The way that you would normally read a hexagram
is from the bottom up!!
The bottom line/yao of the hexagram is the newest energy...
the energy seeking most to emerge...
or be the final result of the hexagram...
Yet as you can see from the photo above
of the first page of I Ching Oracle Calendarof the Master Almanac
we live our sequence of days
from the top line/yao of a hexagram to the bottom..
through the top 3 line/yao of the old trigram
then through the bottom 3 lines of the new trigram
seeking to overcome, overwhelm, or simply change the old.

THIS POINTS OUT A SIX DAY CYCLE
OF TIME AND ENERGY WAVES PASSING THROUGH ONE ANOTHER:
the time wave we're all familiar with
that comes from our past into our present
then into our future...
and the energy wave from the future
through the present into the past!!!
that carries the character of the energy potential
of the specific hexagram
a specific day/yao/line
within a given hexagram
is said to reflect or embody...

NOW HERE'S WHAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH YOU:
Yes, because each yao represents a day in our lives
that means you would have both a yearly
and a natal birthday yao
that would tell us what you may be working on
or focused on in this life;
what changes you bring to the world,
both overall, and what your annual focus will be...

So one way of making use of this calendar
is to check your annual birthday yao and hexagram,
and the daily yao and it's placement within its hexagram...
This could tell us what stage of the state of change we're in
on a given day within the context of
our yearly focus on our own personal growth...

One of the exciting things about experimenting with
this new calendar is that it points out a 6 day cycle of energy
made up of two 3 day cycles of energy:
the hexagram composed of the top trigram of old energy
followed by the bottom trigram of the new emerging energy....

HERE'S A SAMPLE OF HOW TO READ THIS CALENDAR:
Lets take as an example:
Sunday Dec. 20th 2009
the next Conscious Evolution Day Global quiet Sunset Meditation
(the Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere
the Summer Solstice in the southern hemisphere)
THE TOP LINE OF HEXAGRAM # 10. HEAVEN ON LAKE: TREADING

This is the first day of a new 6 day cycle of energy
The top trigram and 3 day cycle is Heaven
which symbolizes both the idea of heaven
and the sky, divinity, and the air element...
idea, thought...
that which must precede any manifestation...
So in a way it's about being open to entertain the lofty notions
be unattached, and open to the new and receiving direction from on high
perhaps in the form of new people or new perspectives
on the people and things in our surroundings;
seeing things from a hopeful and fresh view.
The energy of the entire hexagram suggests anticipation
as one is treading water...taking needed action to merely maintain
the status quo in anticipation of something new eventuating...
either out of necessity or because there really is no going back...
without being changed, renewed, refreshed, fulfilled ? but changed...

I hope that you get from this short interpretation of hexagram #10
that you have complete license to use your intuition to see whatever
comes to mind...merely from putting together
a few points of information gleaned from
a couple lines representing the interaction
of forces or aspects of nature...
what i do is i see each of the 64 hexagrams
as an image i would see in nature like heaven or sky on lake
then by imagining myself in that image
try to understand what manner of change
or state of change is trying to be expressed
Take for example Fire on Mountain Hexagram #56:
Where would i see that in nature?
A forest fire or a volcano erupting or warning...
Either of which may look great or momentous
from a distance but up close could be down right trepidatious...
The word for hexagram #56 Fire on Mountain is Sojourning
to stay for a time but know that you must go on your travels
the journey is yet to be complete
yet while you can find contentment in the present know,
that you are in the midst of the journey you're destined to complete...

Notice also the 6 day cycle that precedes Dec. 20th
hexagram # 9 Wind on Heaven

and the lower trigram Heaven that culminates on Dec.19th...
It's 3 yang lines of activity suggesting this is a most auspicious time
to take action on your wildest ideas
to plant seeds in the etheric realms of dreams and visions
if not in the actual physical plain...
great time for following through...
even and especially on ideas you've had on hold for some time
"until the right time"... the idea is to clear the air for the new...
and leave no stones unturned
or things like coulda woulda shoulda's around for future excuses...

If you look again at Dec. 20th and hexagram #10 Heaven on Lake
as the image of the sky over a still lake
and right in the middle is that gap of the the yin line Dec. 23rd
that is the top yao of the 2nd trigram LAKE
that makes up the whole hexagram
that gap could be us in the midst of the lake
treading water in the stillness of the lake
surrounded by the stillness of the sky...
Granted we have the emotion of the yin line/yao
but we also have the potential of appreciating
the beauty of the depth
& the depth of the beauty
to be found in those moments
of treading water naked and unafraid
in the middle of the lake
surrounded by our love
of god or goddess or the divine
or our love of nature
or our idea of higher love...
culminating in the higher active energy Christmas Day Dec. 25th
and followed on the 26th by a new 6 day cycle
of Hexagram # 11 Earth on Heaven
beginning with the grounding energy of the Earth element
and culminating on Dec. 31st New Years Eve 2009
with the last yao of the Heaven trigram
after the solstice this day is the next
Conscious Evolution Day Global Meditation
at both Sunset and Midnight...
AND IT'S THE FULL MOON!!!
(5 degrees Cancer Trop./ 11 degrees Gemini Sid.)

Now you can see so far
from this short reading of the energy for Dec. 20th
how important it can be to take into account
the context of the time continuum
the energy of the days leading up to a specific date
and the energy of the days that flow after
because this will clue you to
the greater patterns of energy potential
that are seeking to culminate
in our experience of the physical world
as these flow through our present moment
from our past and from our future...

Now...to continue the example
according to the Master Almanac
( referencing only a couple of the 18 calendars included in the 2010 edition...plugplug)
Dec. 20th, 2009:

1. is Day # 354. RECOVERY ?
in THE SACRED GEOMETRY PAINTINGS DAILY ORACLE & PERPETUAL CALENDAR

2.the Sun is at 28 degrees Sagittarius in the Western Tropical Zodiac
or 4 Sag. in the Eastern Sidereal Zodiac
(Meaning the Sun has just passed but is still conjunct
or mutually inspired by
the center of the Milky Way Galaxy
at 26-27 degrees Sagittarius in the Tropical Zodiac.
or 1-2 degrees Sagittarius in the Sidereal Zodiac,
a point radiating tremendous harmony in our sky)

3. in the true Mayan Calendar it is 12 Ak'bal or 12 Night
from my experience this means
the more significant events of that day
will happen after dark and
it could be a very interesting night
usually in a good and memorable way.
the 12 means that the energy of the previous 11 days
is waning to completion on the next day
the 13th and last day of the cycle.

4. the Moon will be 4 days past the New Phase
in the Waxing Crescent Phase meaning it is still growing towards fullness
as only 12% of the Moon will be visible
and as it approaches the western horizon
before setting approx. 3.5 hours after the Sun
it will resemble the horns of a bull.
The Moon will be at 13 degrees Aquarius (Trop.)
or 19 degrees Capricorn (Sid.)
Meaning the whole world will be feeling
a rising need for a sense of freedom, structure,
higher minded ideas and insights,
basically the need to ground ones ideas
and ideals in something more concrete like reality.

5.In the Hindu tradition of a Lunar Zodiac based on the Sidereal Zodiac
the Moon will be in the Lunar Constellation Nakshatra #22.
associated with the star Altair and the constellation the Eagle
which has to do with the quest for knowledge, history, and traveling...

6. In the Arabic tradition of a Lunar Zodiac based on the Western Tropical Zodiac
when we consider the Lunar Mansions or Constellations or Manazils
(literally "the resting place of the Moon")
the Moon will be in Manazil #25.The Lucky Star of Hidden Things:
calling forth humility, modesty, wisdom, and piety....

The idea for this calendar is based on
the work of the famous ethno-botanists
Terence & Dennis McKenna, published in their book
The Invisible Landscape in 1975.
In this book they posit the notion
that the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching
are a384 day lunar calendar...
and as such form a fractal
or smaller version of a larger pattern repeating itself to infinity.
And that this larger cosmic version of this pattern
found in the arrangement of the 384 yao of the 64 hexagrams
happens to culminates on Dec. 21st, 2012...!!!

Terence McKenna studied what's called
the King Wen arrangement of the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching:

KING WEN SEQUENCE OF THE 64 HEXAGRAMS OF THE I CHING

Taking just the assigned number of each of the 64 hexagrams,
if you were to then rearrange them
into the 8x8 square arrangement called the Magic Square of Eight:
(supposedly "discovered " by Benjamin Franklin,
the first Grand Master of the Masons in America.)

THE MAGIC SQUARE OF EIGHT

Notice that the significance of this number "260" is:
1.) the number of days in the Mayan Tzolkin or Sacred Calendar...
2.) the approximate number of days in the human gestation period of 9 months....and
3.) the approximate number of days the planet Venus spends
as the Morning Star before disappearing for a couple weeks
then reappearing as the Evening Star for another 260 days...

After rearranging the 64 hexagrams into the Magic Square of Eight...
if you then draw a line from one hexagram
to the next in the King Wen numerical sequence like this :
starting with hexagram #1 followed by hexagram #2
followed by #3 , then # 4 and so on
until you've connected all 64 hexagrams
by the same line in this "connect-the-dots" fashion...
a very unique pattern begins to emerge...

This pattern McKenna said is something of a base pattern of the universe.
He then charted the incidence of novelty in the evolution of human history...
and discovered it followed this same base pattern...
Furthermore he determined that by Dec.15th, 2012,
just six days before Dec. 21st 2012
we will have only passed half way
through the entire pattern
of the incidence of novelty in human history...
And that by 12:07 p.m. on Dec. 21st 2012
we will complete the entire second half of the base pattern...
The entire 2nd half of the pattern in those last 6 days!!!!

He also said that he arrived at this date
without prior knowledge of the Mayan end date,
the end of the Mayan long count calendar on Dec. 21st 2012
that so much is being made of now...

The pattern of acceleration of novelty and innovation
from near imperceptible, barely moving change
over tens of thousands of years
to the point where we can actually feel
everything speeding up within our lifetime
to this end date of 12.21.2012
suggests the same conditions one would observe
in witnessing an object approaching or spiraling towards
a singularity or what we call " a black hole" !?!

Is this... could this be what has been referred to as
the end of time...as we know it...?
or the end of days...?
For as an object approaches a black hole
time both accelerates and slows down
depending from where you are observing...
as time is a function of gravity
and the gravitational forces at the center of a singularity warp time...?
and also warp our perception of time, space, matter, and what matters...?

So
...IS THERE A SINGULARITY,
A BLACK HOLE
WAITING FOR US AT 12:07 PM
ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 21ST 2012 ???
And if there is has it been warping our sense of time
our collective life experience
and our expression of novelty
and innovation over the past 5,000 years
??????????????????????? ?!?

Hey here's a little game for extra credit:
It just occurs to me that another way of making use of
the I Ching Oracle Calendar is to generate a hexagram
by combining the yin or yang yao/ line of:

1.the top most line/yao (the oldest energy):
could be determined by noting the specific yao of the day you were born...
(This you can figure out by working back from either Friday Dec. 21st 2012 or Monday October 26th 2009 as the last yao or bottom line of the 64th hexagram. Count the number of days since your birth and divide that number by 384...and count backwards through the remainder.)
2. the middle yao of the top trigram: is the yao of the day that was your birthday this year
3. the bottom yao of the top trigram: is today's yao in the calendar
...this would generate one of the 8 trigrams...for today..

4. the top yao of the bottom trigram is to take note of the nostril you were breathing out of at the moment you woke up this morning...( the left nostril is yin, the right nostril is yang)
5.the middle yao of the bottom trigram: place the yao of the nostril you are breathing out of at this moment you are casting a reading...
6. the bottom yao or bottom line of the hexagram could be determined by the random flip of a coin ( heads yang, tails yin.)

Another avenue of inquiry would be the connection between
the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching and the 64 codons of DNA...
as these are expressed on a daily bases...
it was suggested recently that this calendar
may point out periods of the daily emphasis or influence
of specific DNA proteins...???
please lemme know what you think?

bless
